GHP FISH is throwing a birthday party on August 29, 1 to 3 p.m., and you’re invited. There’ll be free family-friendly fun and games as we look back on 50 years of service and forward to continuing to be neighbors helping neighbors. We appreciate our community’s support and look forward to celebrating with you.

Eligible school aged children living in the Peninsula School District can receive new clothes/shoes, backpacks, headphones and more. GHP FISH will be providing a headphone for each kid. Registration is full. To see more information on this event click on Back 2 School.

The Gig Harbor Police Department is excited to invite you and your family to join us for the National Night Out in conjunction with the Summer Sounds Concert Series. This is a night dedicated to building stronger connections between law enforcement, community organizations, and the citizens we proudly serve.

The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. and includes live music by "A Flock of 80s" hosted by the Gig Harbor Chamber, free hot dogs, root beer floats, special guests, and activities for kids and families, as well as community resources to keep you informed and connected. GHP FISH will be there to accept food.

This event celebrates wellness through movement, play and connection. Rather than passive entertainment, the experience encourages participants of all ages to engage in fun, low-pressure activities that support physical, mental and social wellbeing. From archery to oversized sports, we’ll have something for every member of the family! GHPFISH will be there to provide information about our services.

The Maritime Gig Festival is the highlight of summer in Gig Harbor! This cherished weekend tradition fills the waterfront with energy, excitement, and community connection. The Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce parade is an annual celebration of the community in which we live, highlighting our rich history, traditions, and economic vitality. Spectators are welcome to line up anywhere along the parade route to watch. The 2026 Maritime Gig Festival Parade theme is “Stars and Stripes.”

Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers, who participate in the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks such as GHP FISH. We appreciate their annual food drive to support GHP FISH.

The Key Peninsula Civic Center Livable Community Fair is a family-friendly, collaborative event made possible thanks to dedicated exhibitors, generous sponsors, amazing volunteers, and great local organizations. The event draws hundreds of attendees of all ages from the Key Peninsula, Gig Harbor, and nearby areas.

Windemere is hosting a LeMay Mobile Shredding event at their Soundview offices, 5801 Soundview Drive, Gig Harbor, WA. Participants are encouraged to bring food or donations for GHP FISH. GHP FISH will be present to receive any donations.

GHP FISH volunteers are at the entrance to Fred Meyer to provide lists of needed food and to accept food and cash donations.

We are known for the annual Empty Bowls event that delivers financial help to local organizations feeding Gig Harbor's families.

The Gig Harbor Lighted Car Parade and Santa's Village is held on the third Saturday in December every year. This year marks the sixth year of this spectacular event. Watch for the highly decorated GHP FISH van prepared and driven by one of our volunteers, Kevin Jacobsen.

The Cruisers travel around Gig Harbor showing off their cars and collecting food and toys for GHP FISH. Watch for them.

In 2002, Dr. Holmes' oldest son challenged him to run a marathon with him. From that simple beginning has evolved into an annual event with thousands of participants.
